Le Pascalounet

On the campsite

Mediterranean camping on the Côte Bleue and cultural discoveries in Marseille

Camping Le Pascalounet is situated on partly terraced and partly flat land under pine trees. Many of the natural, well-kept pitches and comfortable rental accommodation are semi-shaded. Bushes and hedges characterise the terrain. Only a good hundred metres walk to the pebble and sandy beach of La Saulce. It is situated in a bathing bay of the Côte Bleue. On three boule courses you can follow the Southern French way of life. The kids will conquer the forest playground. The Chez Lily restaurant and snack bar offers refreshments and goodies in July and August.

Starting from the campsite, explore Marseille, Martigues and the Camargue

<Marseille, the second largest city in France, is a lively port and cultural city. Discover the fish market on the Quai des Belges, the Naval Museum, the Natural History Museum or the Musée Regards de Provence. Spectacular exhibitions in the modern museum building of the civilisations of Europe and the Mediterranean. The pilgrimage church of Notre-Dame de la Garde sits on a limestone mountain almost one hundred and fifty metres above Marseille. From here you can see far over the city and the Golfe du Lion.

Would you like to walk in the footsteps of the Middle Ages or wild horses?

Aix-en-Provence with its old Roman and medieval quarters is also a worthwhile destination for a day out. In Martigues, "the Provençal Venice", you can admire the marina in front of historic harbour houses. Numerous canals run through the old fishing town. The wide swamp areas of the Camargue are also easily accessible. Here you can watch flamingos as well as the famous wild horses and Camargue bulls.
