Languedoc-Roussillon - beach life, luxury camping resort, wine and culture

  • Sand beaches, pool parks, and water slides.
  • Wide choice of 4 and 5 star campsites.
  • Natural family holiday with style: luxury caravans and glamping lodges.
  • Discover Cathar castles, Canal du Midi and Roman monuments.

The Mediterranean coast between the Spanish border and Marseille, is one of the most popular holiday regions in France. Languedoc-Roussillon consists of five regions: Aude, Hérault, Lozère, Gard and Pyrénées-Orientales. Holidaymakers are particularly attracted by the wide sandy beaches. Many have the blue flag of the EU - the sign of cleanliness and service. If you travel with children to campsites in southern France, you can look forward to adventure pools. Many 4 and 5 star campsites with mega slides, water play animals and pool bars line the coast. For example in the popular seaside resort Argélès-sur-Mer, in Marseillan Plage, in Portiragnes, Vias, and Valras Plage near Béziers. Whether lagoons and rocky landscapes (in the pool or in nature) - the variety is almost limitless.

Historic ports like the one of Sète and defiant Cathar castles want to be discovered

In the rugged mountain landscape of Corbières, Quéribus Castle is enthroned on a rocky spur. The Cité of Carcassonne is considered the world's largest enclosed castle. The Languedoc-Roussillon even has a high mountain range to offer: at Collioure on the Côte Vermeille, the often snow-covered Pyrenean peaks approach the deep blue Mediterranean Sea. The Romans built the 275 metre long Pont du Gard over the river Gardon. In nearby Nîmes you can admire the ancient Roman amphitheatre. In the cultural and student metropolis of Montpellier, you meet on the Place de la Comédie to go on shopping or sightseeing tour. The Arc de Triomphe, the Opera, the Saint Pierre Cathedral, and the medieval tower of the Babote fortress are all worth a visit. A bicycle tour along the Canal du Midi is recommended. The narrow waterway has connected the Atlantic with the Mediterranean for over 300 years. Time seems to have stood still in the dreamy canal villages and in the old town of Béziers, which towers over the river and canal landscape.

Favourable and authentic shopping - in many places farmers and winegrowers offer their products

The terrace restaurants of the camping parks are dominated by southern French cuisine - with Catalan and international influences. How about paella, freshly caught grilled fish, Mediterranean vegetable dishes or delicious filled tartlets from Pézenas? Anyone who likes giant ferris wheels and merry-go-rounds, mega slides and dinosaurs will look forward to the Île des Loisirs near Adge. You can explore the underworld in one of the many stalactite caves of the Languedoc. You can sail, windsurf or fly over the waves of the Mediterranean - the trend sport of kitesurfing can be learned by sporty holidaymakers on many beaches of Languedoc-Roussillon. Are you or your kids more of a ball player? Football, tennis, padel tennis, table tennis, basketball, beach volleyball, golf, and mini golf - there's almost nothing you can't find at campsites in Languedoc. You and your family only have to choose your favorites...
