Exercise in the fresh air also ensures health and relaxation: you can walk on dikes and say "Goeden Dag" to the sheep - or explore Zeeland sights by bicycle: these include the port of Vlissingen, the historic city centre of Middelburg and the former working island of Neeltje Jans in the estuary delta of the Oosterschelde. The island was created during the construction of the huge barrage that protects the region from storm tides. An exhibition in the Deltapark on Neeltje Jans provides information about the project of the century.
