Experience lakes and mountains, enjoy family time, camping in Switzerland

  • Camping in good mountain air amongst healthy nature
  • mountain tours, family hikes, water sports or swimming
  • Discover alpine farmers, petting zoos, or children's museums

You don't have to be a mountaineer to admire the beauty of the Swiss four-thousanders. You don't have to be a millionaire to spend your family holidays with the Swiss. And you don't have to be a camper to enjoy the relaxed, natural and child-friendly atmosphere of the Swiss camping parks. Because you can simply rent a mobile home in Switzerland. Or a "Glamping" accommodation. This will not only save you the cost of your tent equipment or your own caravan. But also the motorway vignette (highway toll) is also cheaper for a vehicle without a trailer: in 2018 for example, 40 Swiss francs, around 37 euros, were due for a car without a trailer. The vignette is valid for 12 months as well as in the following January and in December of the previous year.

Practically every campsite offers a variety of excursion, cycling and hiking tips

The hiking offer ranges from high-alpine mountain tours to walking trails that have also been created for the youngest holidaymakers in Switzerland or those with prams. Take binoculars with you. Maybe you'll find amarmot, golden eagle or chamois? In any case, you're sure to find some alpine cows and goats whose bells can be heard from far away. Especially popular with families are the mountain playgrounds, which are close to nature and can be found at many cable car stations. A stop at an alpine farm is also the perfect motivation for an excursion. Up here you can enjoy homemade Swiss specialities, Rösti, bacon, and of course Swiss cheese. In the Emmental show dairy you can find out how the holes in the cheese are made...If you want to toboggan in summer? Then you can find yourself rushing down one of the over a dozen summer bobsleigh and toboggan runs with jumps, waves and mega-fast steep bends.

Join in at the Farmhouses, children's museums and more - family-friendly culture whilst camping in Switzerland

Visit with your family the over 100 historic Swiss farmhouses and homes from all cantons (counties) of the country. In the Ballenberg Open Air Museum the children will look forward to the petting animal enclosure, to the magic forest and pony rides! Or experience the sparkling eyes of your youngest at the Creaviva Museum of Participation, Art and Children in Bern. In the Swiss capital, a visit to the Bärenpark as well as a stroll through the old town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is also worthwhile. The figure of the "Kindlifresserbrunnen" is eerily beautiful and creepy. If you're still too scared to climb mountain tops, you can start well secured in one of the many high ropes courses and amusement parks, for example in Interlaken, Zermatt, Engelberg, Bern or Crans Montana in Valais.
